End in sight...
August is almost over and so are my duties for the month! I was able to get my huge pile of filing done, take my bag of mending to the seamstress up the hill, and clean the office from top to bottom. The yard sale has been a bit overwhelming for me but we're still going to try and get it done this week sometime. It's getting to the end of yard sale season so if we don't do it now, it probably won't happen this year. I'll still be able to take a bunch of old stuff to the Salvation Army if we don't get the yard sale done. With only three more days of the month to go, I still need to take Olivia school clothes shopping but that's it! All in all, I think this month has been really successful and if it hasn't made me feel happier, it's definitely helped me feel more organized. And who doesn't love to feel organized?!

Allergies, Be Gone!
Despite having terrible hayfever ALL week, I still managed to get Ethan's school supplies, organize for the first day of school (for Ethan), and obtain a Washington driver's license after making three trips there--yes, I said three. (This was because our super-duper-well-run-government-office-systems are always "down". ) I had good intentions of holding our yard sale on Friday but I couldn't seem to breathe through the brick in my head. This coming week I have much to do: put the baby clothes in the mail to Emily (the box sat in my hallway all week!), get school clothes for Livi, get my mending done, and figure out when it will work to have the yard sale. I'm intimidate by the yard sale. I feel like I need to hire someone to help me put it together. I wonder if it will even be worth it. Maybe just taking everything to Salvation Army would be a better option. At least I would still be getting rid of "stuff". August is almost over and there is still much to do!

A good try
Well, this week was somewhat successful. I tried going to the drivers license place but their national database was down so they couldn't verify any of my information and told me to come back another time. Figures.
I did get all of Livi's old baby clothes ready to send to Emily--at least the 0-3 month stuff. I'm excited to have her use them for this new little baby girl! Can't wait to see her and welcome her to the world! Only two more months to go, sister!
I also cleaned up the office today. It tends to be our "dumping ground" and the place where the kids go to do all of their drawing and art. It gets pretty messy because of that. I have to say that that was enough for this week. With everything else we were doing, I'm surprised I got that much done!

Feelin' Good!
I can't tell you how hard last month felt compared to now! I think because I'm working on more tangible things this month, it will help me feel more productive. I actually did some things that weren't on my list this past week. I figured out my piano-teaching schedule and got that into the computer and ready to send in a couple of weeks to my students. That is something I tend to put off and then September comes up fast and I'm not ready. I also spent some time online getting some ideas for my design/stylist site I want to do. I found some great blogs and websites that have given me some ideas and inspiration for moving forward with the interior design stuff I eventually want to implement. I have some bigger things to accomplish this coming week and with everything else we're trying to do, I hope I can get everything done! One day at a time!

August: Clear the Physical Clutter
Happy August! How I love to turn the calendar to a new month! My resolution for this month's happiness project is to clear the physical clutter.

Here's my list of things to do for the month. I have them all mapped out on my resolution chart throughout the month so I'll be posting each week again to update my progress:
*Get a Washington driver's license (I've been here for over three years and I still have my Utah driver's license...pretty sure that's illegal.)
*Buy the kids school clothes and supplies
*Send Olivia's baby clothes to Emily for new baby girl Kawa!
*File the stack of paperwork that is overflowing from my shelf at the top of the stairs!
*Have a yard sale (yikes!)
*Take any left-over stuff to the Salvation Army
*Take my bag of mending to my favorite seamstress up the road
Some of these things are jobs that I've just been putting off forever and August seems like a great time to get that kind of stuff done. Once September comes and we get back into a school schedule, it will feel great to have all of those odds and ends done. Wish me luck!
